SPC flooring is a new type of flooring, also known as stone-plastic flooring. Its base material is a composite slab made from stone powder and a thermoplastic polymer material when mixed and then extruded at high temperature.
The SPC flooring is mainly made of calcium powder as raw material. After plasticisation and extrusion, the sheet consists of an SPC polymer substrate layer, a transparent PUR layer, a wear-resistant layer, a decorative colour film layer and a soft and quiet reflection layer.
Advantages of SPC flooring:
- It’s safe for the environment and formaldehyde-free- SPC flooring does not use glue in the production process, so it does not contain harmful substances such as formaldehyde or benzene.
- Water resistance – SPC flooring is resistant to moisture, mould, etc. It solves the problems of traditional wooden flooring, which reacts badly to moisture. Therefore, SPC flooring can be installed in bathrooms, kitchens and balconies.
- Non-slip properties – SPC flooring has good non-slip properties, you no longer have to worry about the floor becoming slippery and causing an accident.
- It’s lightweight – SPC flooring is very light and thin, ranging from 1.6mm to 9mm thick, and weighs just 2-7.5kg per square metre, which is 10% of the weight of a normal wooden floor
