- After a certain period of use of the equipment, a comprehensive inspection should be carried out to check the tightness of all screws.
- If the machine is interrupted, the main drive will stop and the heaters will shut down. When power is restored, each cylinder section must be heated to the specified temperature and held at that temperature for a period of time before the extruder is started.
- After 500 hours of using the extruder, iron filings or other contaminants will remain in the reduction box. Therefore, clean the gears and replace the grease in the reduction box.
- If the gauge and pointer are found to be fully indicating check that the thermocouple contacts, etc. are in good condition.
Guidelines for using the extruder:
- There must be no debris in the material, hard objects such as metal and sand can damage the machine.
- When opening the barrel cover or the air extraction cover, it is imperative that foreign objects are prevented from entering.
- Before starting work, the machine should be warmed up to the temperature in accordance with the instructions.
The temperature should be maintained constantly for 2 hours after reaching the temperature adapted to the specific process. - The screw should only start at low speed and the idling time should not exceed 3 minutes.
- When a new machine arrives, all gears should be oiled, and the oil should be changed after 3000 hours of operation.
- Check the wear of the barrel and bolt, gearbox, bearings and oil the seals annually.
- If the main motor is a DC motor, the carbon brushes of the motor should be checked monthly.
- During prolonged downtime, the machine must be fitted with anti-corrosion and anti-fouling agents.
- Daily inspections should include:
- lubrication and checking the oil level of any part requiring lubrication;
- vibration of the unit;
- display of motor current and voltage;
- display of temperature, oil and cooling water pressure;
- pipeline leakage.
Removal and maintenance of the bolt
Ensure that the material in the barrel is completely melted, remove the head and extract the bolt.
Remove material and carbon deposits on the surface of the extractor bolt.
Note that the items used in the cleaning process are copper plates, copper rods and copper wire brushes. Do not hammer with steel rods.
